if the target is a sequencergate, you´d simply add +1 or +2 arithmetically to the stream of numbers, depending on what time a step represents.
otherwise you can delay note events as well as most other types of data using [stepdelay], [datadelay], or [chordecho].
"choosing" should happen in realtime using one of the various gate modules.

Hey hey, would there be a way to shift a whole pattern/a couple of bars by a certain note length? I.e. choose 8 bars and shift them forwards/backwards by an 8th note? Best wishes and thanks, Jeanette
